Leeds Junior Knights head coach Mike Forbes is delighted with the turnout for the clubs’ first trial.

23 players joined Forbes and his coaching staff on the ice for 90 minutes of skill development.

“It was great to get on the ice and see what the kids have got and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised at the standard.”

“We didn’t know what to expect with the England match on, but we are delighted to have had so many turn up and work so hard throughout the session.”

Junior Knights chairman Seth Bennett added: “Everything has happened so quickly, today was always going to be a massive moment for us as a club. Today was a starting point from which we will build on.”

“It was fantastic to see so many kids excited about being part of something new and being on the ice. We hope that word gets around and more people who are interested in what we are doing join us next week.”
